SUBJECT: The West Dallas Chamber of Commerce invites the public to visit the
Texas Fire Museum
The West Dallas Chamber of Commerce invites the public to visit the Texas
Fire Museum located at 2600 Chalk Hill Road in West Dallas.
The museum was organized and founded in August 1999, in order to acquire,
restore and preserve the old City of Dallas Fire Department Maintenance
Facility. The facility provides assistance to the North Texas Historical
Fire Society and the Dallas Firefighters Museum in the restoration,
preservation and displaying of their fire apparatus.
The museum has over 32 pieces of antique fire apparatus from the 1880's
hand-drawn equipment, to 1960's vintage fire engines. Many fire departments
from around the United States are represented at the museum. New York City,
Modesto, California, and many Texas Cities have antique apparatus maintained
at the facilities by the volunteer staff.
The museum is open every Thursday and Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM and
every Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Private
tours are available by appointment.
For more information about the museum you may visit their website at
www.texasfiremuseum.org. or you may call
