Chamber Board Member Elections

The West Dallas Chamber of Commerce held elections for new board members at the
November 11, 2003 membership meeting. The new board members elected were:
Mr. Danny Nunez, Community Affairs Manager, Coca Cola Bottling Company of North
Texas, Ms. Anita Odom-Thomas, Odoms Barbeque, and Young Life, and Mr. Scott
Simpson, President, Texas Fire Museum. The Chamber believes these new members
of the board of directors will bring additional opportunities for expansion of
membership and programming for the organization.
The West Dallas Chamber has grown from 30 to over 60 members in the first
year of becoming a Chamber of Commerce. The organization was formerly known
as the West Dallas Business Association and was incorporated in 1994. Revenue
for the Chamber has increased from $1500 per year to over $15,000 in 2003.
Events held in 2003 included a first ever banquet and the Antique Fire Engine
Festival of Texas. Next month the Chamber will announce the program of work
it will pursue for 2004.
